I thought I might do an 'April favourites' post, then I realised we are now halfway through May....
So, here we have two mini reviews on the things I have been loving through April and into May.

L'Oreal Pure Clay Mask - Detoxify and Brighten [With Charcoal]
I have to say I was a bit of a sceptic when it came to thinking this would actually work. I'm very picky when it comes to my skincare regime, I only like to use expensive products and I don't like to use too many different items on my face. I have this theory just simply because I have always been really lucky with my skin and have never had many issues so I thought if I use too many things that I don't need it will mess things up. And I like to use more high end skin care simply because I think it will be better for my skin because of their use of better ingredients - not because I'm prude. Anyway, after that mouthful; I picked this up at chemist warehouse on sale thinking it would get me by until I can afford the Dermalogica one and I don't think I will have to use anything else. For the first three weeks that I started using it I broke out a lot (even 2-3 breakouts is weird for me) but that's normal for charcoal masks as they draw out all the impurities in your skin that you wouldn't know about. It also has cleared up most of my dirty pores around my nose and T-Zone area. I now want to try the two other types the have in the range. I love face masks for my Tuesday nights as that's the night Tom has soccer and my mum works, so I have my house all to my self, light candles, watch youtube then apply my face mask, it makes for the best night in!!

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel No Light Nail Polish in - 234 Plush Blush and 610 Cream of the Crop
Last year I went through a stage where I got acrylics all the time and it ruined my nails, I ended up hating having them and getting them removed. From then I thought I would get Shellac every couple of weeks but when I did I found I couldn't find a really great nail technician that would do them nice enough (it was the same with acrylics too) and I was genuinely over spending all the money. When I was in grade 11 I went through a stage of wanting to paint my nails all the time but it was not allowed at my school so I would always apply it on the weekend then removed it before Monday came around. From the countless times I would do my nails and reapply I actually learnt how to paint nails pretty well (I'm not amazing at it but the same if not better then where i was getting my nails done). So I figured why don't I try just painting them myself, but I was still hesitant because I know that store bought nail polish doesn't last a second on my nails and peels off and chips after a day. So I thought about the idea for a while then had a look through my local chemist warehouse to find something that might last. I found there were heaps of the gel nail polishes that have the colour then a top coat to match for sale (you can see I've been out of the nail polish game for a while) and I saw the Sally Hansen one and I know Sally Hansen is well known for its quality. I thought I'd give it a try so I bought one colour and the top coat and gave it a try. It was on the more expensive side but it's so worth it!! You have to let it dry properly between coats but it lasts at the least a week but if I don't pick at my nails it could last 2 without chipping. It has a nice wide brush too so if you're still a beginner they are really easy to use. The one downside is these light colours need a few coats to get a good opacity, especially colour 610 (cream of the crop). There is a massive range, and heaps of different colours to choose from! I'm excited to try more especially some darker colours for Autumn and Winter.

Hope you liked this mini review and let me know in the comments if you have tried these products and your experience with them or what other beauty things you have been liking lately.
